The Big Impact: Why BBBSNS Board Chair, Christine, Believes in the BIG Impact
Why Christine Vandereweg Believes in the BIG Impact
Christine Vandereweg knows firsthand the power of mentorship. From her early days at the YMCA to serving on local hockey boards, Christine has long believed in giving back to her community. Now, as the Chair of the Board at Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Simcoe, she’s seen how BBBSNS transforms lives through meaningful, consistent mentorship.
“Sometimes just having one person who connects with you is enough to help you thrive,” Christine says. “BBBSNS creates citizens who give back—kids who grow into confident adults and leaders.”
Her experience with mentorship, both as a mentee and a supporter, has shaped her belief that we build stronger communities when we invest in the next generation.
Christine’s story is part of our BIG Impact series, sharing real stories from the people who make our mission possible. Their voices remind us why we do this work and how powerful it is when a community rallies around its youth.
