Be a Little
The Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) is looking for children and youth who will be matched with a uniquely suited adult over 18 years of age to talk to and share common interests with. Through regular outings, a relationship is developed between the mentor and the mentee that is built on trust and consistency. With the support of their volunteer mentors, children are able to increase their self-confidence, enhance social skills, and engage in new experiences within their community.
CHild & YOUTH REQUIREMENTS
- Your child is between 6 and 17 years old
- You, as the child's primary caregiver, are willing and available to support the mentoring relationship
- Your child is interested in the program and willing to participate
- Your child can easily communiticate their needs
- You do not have any plans to move out of the area for at least 1 year

Relationship Skills
Mentoring helps a young person communicate clearly, listen well, cooperate with others, resist inappropriate social pressure, negotiate conflict constructively, and seek and offer help when needed.
Social Awareness
Help youth understand the perspectives of others and empathize with them, including those from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Responsible Decision Making
Mentorship means youth make constructive choices about personal behaviour and social interactions based on ethical standards, safety and social norms.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Simcoe offers a variety of free programs for youth ages 6-17 including 1:1 Mentoring, In School Mentoring and Group Mentoring.
